Bring Back the Ballard Octopus Club

The Ballard octopus club was formed in the early 1900s by several prominent Ballard Octopuses. Early Octopus Club records indicate that the sole purpose of the club was to promote and perpetuate merriment and good times in the Ballard area. Originally the club was for “octopi only.” However, in the 1920s squids and giant Krakens sued to be allowed to join the club and won. Today, humans are allowed to join in the fun and are not required to learn the secret club handshake which involves eight hands.
